[FFXIV] All Saint's Wake Event 2015

Hello Wello marshmallows! It's time for one of my favorite events of the year again. It's all saint's wake!

Last year, the event had a fate mechanic and transformation options to turn into the city leaders for a while. It was amazing and people had so much fun with the transformations. I, personally, stayed in Ul'dah for quite some time, trying to get a nanamo transformation.

Here's a video from last year's event:

I'm especially excited this year since the event posted these photos:

Photos taken from the FFXIV lodestone post

To do the quest, you first need to head on over to Gridania and use the Aethernet to port to Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre

Once there, find this NPC, The adventurer's Guild investigator - Old Gridania (10,8)

He'll give you the quest

The quests are very straight forward and the objectives are not hard to follow and complete. All in all, it took me about 20 minutes to complete the whole quest chain so I'm sure you wouldn't find it difficult and you can do it in your spare time.

The quest rewards this year are quite nifty too :D

Happy questing!

[FFXIV] Titan Anniversary run

Hello guys! I'm back from hiatus. Special thanks to Plebe Didz for actively convincing me go back... because MoonFire Faire is my favorite seasonal event and he didn't want me to miss it.  ^_^v

Just in time for the FFXIV anniversary.

You see, every year since my friends and I transferred to Tonberry, we run Titan hard mode to commemorate our frustrations back when we were still in Cactuar.

This year, we tried to run with everyone but not everyone's available to we pulled some friends to join us and we had a lot of fun.

Please excuse us since we're using our local language. I'll work to add subtitles later on to help :)

Here's the death count outtakes

[MC] Trying out Minecraft

Since I don't get a lot of time to play games recently, I decided to try playing Minecraft again.

I've tried it before but I only played in creative so I never got to get the full experience.

My boyfriend spends a lot of time in this game and though it is generally okay with me, I never understood why he likes it so much. I found it fun in creative and hated survival when I tried it back in 2011. A couple of friends played it with me but after we completed the Pokemon stadium, it didn't feel as fun anymore and we decided to move on to other games.

Last June, after I decided to take a break from FFXIV, I tried the game with my boyfriend. We joined a server with a funny name and it mildly amused me. It's a public server that requires you to crack a squirrel joke to get white-listed.

If you're interested in joining the server, you can post on their reddit page. Make sure to prepare a squirrel joke or you can read the ones that they've posted for mild fun.

At first login, I found myself lost. There were a lot of things that I had no idea how to craft or how to get. In creative mode, you don't have to worry about harvesting items. They were all in the interface. You just have to build build build buildings.

My boyfriend guided me on how to craft items and gave me learning materials to learn more about the game.

My first project was making a house. So I made this dome thingy.

You see, in creative mode, you can fly or float to build tall stuff. The idea that you cannot fly in survival didn't kick in until the 7th time I died from fall damage. It frustrated me but after completing the dome, I felt accomplished.

Later on though, my boyfriend made me angel wings that I could use to fly all over the place

After that, I went on a mining spree to get more materials. It was oddly relaxing... well except for the fact that monsters will devour your face every once in a while or lava will claim you through holes on the ground.

The only thing that frustrates me about the whole game at the moment is dying. The thing is, you lose all your stuff when you die. To be exact, it despawns after some time or it dissolves in lava. This is Diablo all over again.

I might update my blog later on with more of my casual adventures in Minecraft.

[FFXIV] Taking a break

Recent events in my real life situation prevented me from having time to play and grind FFXIV. I decided to take a break last June and I plan to come back to the game around September to catch up on stuff in Heavensward.

I miss my little lalafell and I hope to see her soon.

I will also make more videos once I come back. I get requests and comments from friends and other players and I am thankful that I got more subscribers on youtube. Went from total zero to 62 after uploading lala videos.

Thank you to people who subbed. I really appreciate it.

I look forward to putting out more stuff from Heavensward. ^_^

[FFXIV] Getting the Boyfriend to play the game

Late last year, I started seeing someone and I think we really clicked cause months later, we became an official couple. I met him a few years ago through a couple of friends and our contacts has been on and off. One thing we have in common is that we both played World of Warcraft but... *raises fist* He was Alliance.

We see each other whenever it is convenient and that's not very often. So having him play the game sounded like an awesome idea so we can play together.

He started playing around March and I was delighted. Sadly, he chose to play a Miqo'te and with me being a lala, I felt too short to /emote with him.

When we started going out, I'd tell him stories about the game over a bowl of Ramen. What I told him most about is the terrible terrible experience I had with Titan before. Naturally, when he started playing the game, I couldn't wait for him to get to that part of the story quest to get a glimpse.

We didn't get to play that long since I had to take a break from the game due to IRL stuff. But as a treat before I logged out of the game, he used his fantasia to turn himself into a lala just like me ^_^. It was awesome and kinda sweet.

Forehead kissy

I will try to drag him back with me when I start playing again soon. My target is to get back to the game around September. So I'll see you guys in the game soon. :)

[FFXIV] Cribs Ryukahn Free Company House

I've been trying my hand at making videos for FFXIV: ARR this past few months. I'm still learning since it's been 7-8 years since I last held a video editing program. I still remember some points from my media class in College but I have forgotten quite a lot due to lack of practice and exposure. I am glad that there are tons of tutorials on youtube and my friends also gave me links to websites like Lynda.com.

I've had this idea for a while now but I was only able to set in motion a week or so ago. Video editing and shooting footages can take some time so I've put it off for a time when I don't have a lot of things to do.

With the help of my FC mates, we were able to shoot a video featuring our FC house.

The theme is that of MTV Cribs where celebrities take you inside their homes and give you a tour. If you're not familiar with the show, you can check the video below for an episode reference.

One of our FC Leaders, Major Rager, played the role of the celebrity and we went crazy recording as much as we can.

After shooting the videos, I compiled the videos and tried to line them up for sequences and scenes. This made me feel like experimenting with a lot of things so I ended up with a couple of drafts.

I finished the video and rewatched it. It felt incomplete since I didn't have any dialogues to go with it. I tried recording using my own voice but it didn't quite fit and I feel that my microphone wasn't of good quality for this.

I felt like re-shooting the whole thing and asking people to dub it for me but that's going to take longer and more work. I didn't want to waste the effort and fun we had shooting these set of videos so I re-arranged it and added subs instead.

It turned out okay but I want to make better videos in the future. Probably get a new microphone for recording when I get the funds for it, :)

So here's the finished product. Hope you like it. ^_^

[FFXIV] Crystal Tower Dragon boss

During my World of Warcraft days, I used to watch this Machinima Youtube channel where they featured videos of player encounters with bosses and some of the footages didn't have the UI visible. I didn't know how to use machinima (And I still don't (,,Ծ‸Ծ,, )) so I thought it was cool.

I tried to look for anything similar for FFXIV but I've had no luck finding a program to record fights without the UI visible.

A year ago, I shot this video of my character in Crystal tower. To do this, I memorized the commands and skill hotkeys for my bard and hid the UI for the whole fight. Nothing too fancy.

I think it turned out pretty okay. It's almost as if I knew what I was doing

[Food] [FFXIV] Moogle Purple latte

Whenever I'm offline and out of the house, if not on official business, you'd always find me relaxing in cozy food places or chilling with friends.

One of my go-to places for a relaxing cup of coffee is, in the heart of Ortigas, Subspace Coffee House.

The place serves pretty good pastries and coffee. They recently added more thing on their menu but I still order the usual.

Iced lemon green tea and carrot cake slice

This place is also my go-to place for good latte art too. So today, I ordered latte and I asked them to draw a moogle on it. I didn't expect anything extravagant but they made sure to deliver.

It was the most adorable thing I've had on my coffee. It's as if the barista was psychic or magic XD.

They definitely didn't fail to satiate my craving for a Final Fantasy related serving.

30 Days of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Day 08: Least Favourite Leader.

Hrmmm Hrmmm This is a tough choice.  I love all the City leaders and I don’t know how to choose among them who is my least favorite.

I love Kan-E- Senna for her peaceful nature. She’s like a gentle mother who cares for everyone around her. And since I started out as a CNJ, most of my starting quests require me to interact with her. And I loved every moment of it. I found her nature to be calming and regal. She has the air of a composed queen and the gentleness of a fawn.

Nanamo Ul Namo is a favorite cause of her unique lalafell skin. She’s beyond adorable that I had to spend almost an hour last Halloween trying to get a disguise of her from the imp just so I could do this:

Merlwyb is the steadfast empowered woman leader in the game. Sporting 2 guns, she’s one kicka** babe you don’t want to mess with.

Out of the three, my favorite is probably nanamo since I find her adorable.  But if I have to choose a least favorite, I would probably choose... well, Nanamo.

I love her but she's my least favorite cause I'm not at all impressed by her portrayal of a leader. It feels like she's being bullied around by her council members in Ul'dah and that's not a good for a leader.

And though I enjoy the idea of Raubahn carrying her around, it creates room for the idea of dependency. Though it is not directly acknowledged in the game, there were moments where she would rely on him for emotional support and diplomatic dominance.

The fact that her subjects question her decision means that they lack faith in her as a leader. It makes me sad but I am well aware of the fact that this could be essential to the overall story line of the game. I'm still partly hopeful that they would give her more room to establish her character as a leader in future content.

[FFXIV] Chocobo Toys

I had some financial setbacks before Christmas so I needed to reconsider my gift ideas. I wanted to give presents to my FFXIV friends but I can't afford to buy a present for each one.

I used to sew small dolls and top hats in the past so I figured that I may be able to save money if I gave out handmade presents instead.

I didn't really have any idea on what to make so I randomly searched the net for anything Final Fantasy related and majority of the pictures I liked were of the Chocobo. Chocobos are so adorable! ☆*・゜゚・*\(^O^)/*・゜゚・*☆

So I took out my materials and drew a pattern.

My cat, Vivi, wanted to be in the shot. He started Sulking when I asked him to move XD

It took a few tries to get a good pattern. After the pattern, I created a prototype:

I was so happy when I finished my first chocobo that I decided to make different varieties of it. I think all in all, with my friend's help, I was able to make around 30 Chocobos and I gave them out to my FC mates in Ryukahn and Kids.

Here are some of the Chocobos I gave out to my friends in Ryukahn

:3 The chocobos, packed for my friends in Kids

Since I have too many left over materials, I also made cats and gave it to my friends who didn't play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. ヾ(@°▽°@)ノ

[FFXIV] Lala dancing with lala friends

I've once posted a video on Facebook with my lalafell character dancing. Since my profile is on private, some of my FC mates and other players on my server, who aren't on my friendlist, couldn't see the video. I uploaded it on Youtube and some friends shared it and I also posted in in FFXIV FB groups to share the lala love.

Since then, I started recording videos and uploading them on Youtube for sharing. That, coupled with my obsession with lalafells brought me to record lala dancing videos frequently.

I'm no professional when it comes to game recordings and video editing so the way I record our videos is we prepare the steps, play the music and press record. Everything is done real time.

We always face difficulties when syncing movements since Lag plays a very large role in the performance so we don't always expect perfect execution. We do this for fun and getting frustrated about lag and delays can potentially take that away.

I wanted to do a short dance video in my new lala cafe room so I invited my lala friends, Chabelita and Felorio to do a dance with me since we usually do it in our free time anyway. Chabelita is always in charge of Choreography so we let her handle the steps and we just follow.

We shot a practice video while looking for a song. We had to cycle through several before we found Ebisu Muscat's Banana Mango High School and stuck with it.

The video got a favorable number of views from youtube which made us happy. More lalafells wanted to join in but we're not quite sure how to handle a lot of lalafells given the challenges we already face with syncing with just us 3. (See bloopers below)

Chabs worked on fixing the steps for us to follow and edited the length of the mp3 to fit the routine. Once ready, we waited for the lalas to go online and we practiced some more.

We figured that we should use some sort of video editing for this since we're doing a whole song and it would be difficult to just up and play it while dancing. The list of steps for the song is long and we have to record it by parts XD

It took us some time but we were able to record all the steps and our FCmate lala joined us too, Paramint.

After recording, I started working on patching the shots together. It was pretty confusing since I have no recent experience with video editing. Splicing and creating the sequence proved to be a challenge but after some time, and youtube tutorials, I was able to produce the video.

I rendered the video while eating snacks and voila! It's done! + more time to upload it on Youtube. You can find the full video Here.

[FFXIV] Playing with Hyurs

I've been a fluffy happy lalafell since I started playing the game in Beta and I've never played any other race but last December, I used my Fantasia to turn into a hyur. My lalafell friend, Llyona joined me and we hyurred ourselves up. (not even a real word (´д`、))

This is me as a Hyur

This is me and Llyona ( ◜◡‾)(‾◡◝ )

Relaxing in bed back when my room was a mini forest (*^-^*)

For once, I looked good in a swimsuit!(*థ౪థ)

Sheep rug + Ice Chandelier = Good Bird's eve view shot

Obligatory piano shot with my lala friend, Fel

Since I've been a lala for the past year, I've encountered some things that I also didn't appreciate about being hyur. Since lalas are small, we tend to look like we move faster than other races and in some cases, I think we really do. We ran T8 and T9 with FC mates a few times and we ended up getting hit by skills since we're not used to the movements of Hyurs being a bit slower or delayed. ლ(`∀´ლ)

It's sad, but my lala glamours don't look as cute on Hyurs. In all my outfits, I always aim for my lalafell character to look "Cute" but everything looks Sexy or seductive on Hyurs since their appearance is much more mature than the child-like lalas. So I had to re-do my glamours to make it look nicer on Hyurs.

During this time, I realized that I missed playing with my lala friends. Our FC has tons of lalas and we usually play in the front yard, taking screenshots and doing emotes. As Hyur, the emotes we do doesn't look as cute so I had to make do with /pet while targeting each lala friend.

I have to say that I had fun being a Hyur since I finally get to wear a bikini without looking a scarved potato but I'm still a lalafell at heart. After 6 days, I've decided to go back to being a lala. So Llyona and I took some pretty pictures by the beach before we used our Fantasia to change back c(・ω・`c⌒っ

(✿◕ ‿◕ฺ)ノ))。₀: *゚✲ฺβyё βyё✲゚ฺ*:₀ Hyurdom!

It's nice to be back! I love being a lala
